There are many ways that the flow of information has helped the world with the advent of the internet. At the same time the internet has given voice to those who were generally not given a soapbox to stand on so to speak. Now that the internet is breaking those conventions many people have access to a worldwide voice. They can say anything to anyone and at any time. This has generally not invited some of the best behavior out of people and the same argument can be made for music. The ability to hear independent music outside of the corporate approved boardroom is a great addition to society. People/fans can find music that they truly enjoy without being led to that point of appreciation. With this same breath it is difficult for those independent artists to be able to find audiences that will support them enough to make being an independent musician sustainable.
