The life of an artist, a creative, is a difficult path with rugged valleys and dangerous peaks. Sometimes an artist is prone to losing themselves to the madness that the music industry exhibits and spreads. Artists go through uncertainty, creation, writer’s block, adrenaline filled live shows, doubt, bravado, and ultimately have either reason to celebrate or reason to strive for better.
An artist in the hip hop world is never satisfied. They are always looking for that next high, that next ability to relish in their works, their creation and be recognized for the craft they dedicate themselves to. With the struggles of finding balance and time in their life to make their art and be successful in all aspects of life, it can be a constant state of adversity. Who would put themselves through such a constant state of pressure? The answer is an artist, a person who is unable to do anything but create, a person who cannot separate life/art, beauty of the process and the struggle to make it happen.

Gilly Soul and Qwst’s project/single titled “Searching” is like that. A reflection on self, a reflection of the process, an investigation into what the life of an artist is truly like. The track is introspective and examines opportunities of character and how life forges a person into a pillar of strength and wisdom. The production on the track is done exceptionally, the cadence of the verses is perfect and the lyrical content has depth. The track featured the production work of New Mexico phenom Dom Major and the mixing and mastering was done by Darius Beatz! The artwork for the cover of the project was done by Yung Fly!
